LIST: 4 Video Game Franchises That We Want Minifigures For

Welcome to a DitoBlocks list!

Today, we have a list that kinda acts like a wishlist as well. The title says it all! Though, let's note some things before we start listing our favorite video game franchises.

Firstly, these video games will obviously not have been made by Lego [yet]. Lots of times, we collectors just want more than what the big brand has to offer. That leads us to a second note: We know that fellow collectors have third party companies/designs that are being printed and sold on authentic Lego minifigures but we won't be counting them into the list, because most of them are not easily accessible (stock and price). Third, this list is subjective. There's no #1 or best choice here. It's only based on games that we have played or at least watched.

Also, as time passes, some of these video games might already have gotten minifigures in some form so just have a peek at the date of this post before you shout at us for having wrong information.

Again, there's no ranking here. This is just a list of 4 equally ranked video games that we think deserve minifigures.

DitoBlocks Video Game List

Resident Evil

We're not talking about the Resident Evil movies though, we mean the original games. From Resident Evil 1 onwards, we've seen a lot of iconic character costumes of our favorite Resident Evil protagonists.

Resident Evil 2 (Leon and Claire)
Resident Evil 3 (Jill and Carlos)
It's also a great time for Resident Evil fans these days since Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 were recently re-released as remakes, and they have been great so far! There's no stopping Resident Evil anytime soon too since they can go on to make the much anticipated Resident Evil 8 or even another remake of another Resident Evil classic such as Code Veronica.

Another reason we want Resident Evil minifigures is because there are already a number of existing zombie minifigures out there and more often than not, the "survivors" are just generic minifigures. Having STARS and BSAA minifigures from the Resident Evil series will look much more interesting to set up, right?

Even Umbrella's B.O.W.s can get bootlegged, huh?

Actually, a brand named CAYI released a bigfig that has some similarities with Nemesis (Resident Evil 3's mutant villain). While it does look like Nemesis, the set isn't referring to Resident Evil, and looks more similar to Walking Dead instead.

Do you agree that we could use some Resident Evil minifigures?

Tekken

Tekken has spawned multiple games throughout its existence and it makes sense given the huge number of fans it has all over the world. I'm sure a number of those Tekken fans are also Lego Minifigures fans.

Thinking about it, which Yoshimitsu design will be best for a minifigure?

There are so many Tekken characters and every game adds new ones. There's a lot of great-looking and interesting character designs that we'd love to see in minifigure form from this franchise.

Fighting games are also something that numerous Chinese minifigure brands have already had experience with.

Kopf's Mortal Kombat

Kopf's Street Fighter

Plus, if we end up seeing those Resident Evil minifigures made, then we can combine them with the existing Marvel minifigures and make a portion of Marvel vs Capcom. Lol. (Megaman exists from POGO by the way.)

Think Tekken is a good franchise for minifigures? What other fighting games deserve minifigs?

Borderlands

Borderlands might be the least popular in this list because it's relatively new, but it's still one of the best RPG shooters out there. The characters are also so ripe for minifigure designs.

This is a Psycho, one of the many enemy NPCs in Borderlands with an iconic buzzsaw axe

Borderlands 3 recently came out and with 4 new vault hunters. While I think those 4 new vault hunters are pretty cool too, the first two batches of vault hunters are personally preferred by us. While there aren't a ton of characters like Tekken, there are enough varying design elements found in each potential minifigure!

Borderlands 2's Vault Hunters

Do you also want your own Lego Borderlands Vault Hunters? Or are you too annoyed at Claptrap to even enjoy the game?

Final Fantasy

I'm surprised this is on the list. Not because it's a bad game, but because it's such a good game with a number of games and spin-offs already. Though for this post, we'll focus on Final Fantasy VII since it recently had a remake game released. (And also, we're biased because we played and loved Crisis Core in the PSP back in the day.)

Some of Final Fantasy VII's characters

Who wouldn't want a Buster Sword in their minifigure collection, right? Plus, I'd love to see a Lego Cloud Strife battle with a Sephiroth minifigure!

We also think that the other Final Fantasy games deserve their own minifigures. The iconic generic fantasy classes from the first game are also highly welcome especially since a number of people actually use their minifigures for tabletop RPG games! Cool, right? (Something we want to try over here and eventually make a post about as well!)

Honorable Mention:

Call of Duty

Call of Duty Mobile came out last year and was a huge hit! It came from the same developers as that of PUBG Mobile and PUBGM spawned countless minifigure and brick sets from various brands and so we're surprised that COD Mobile isn't getting any minifigures or sets. This is even more shocking given that Call of Duty actually has real characters while PUBG just has costumes/skins.

Brands can easily recycle PUBG gun molds to make CODM minifigures/sets

The reason it's only an honorable mention is that some might see it as a generic military-themed set (and that can be true). Additionally, we're only surprised that it's not getting minifigures because PUBG Mobile came from the same developers and that got lots of brick sets while this one has none that we've seen of. (Call of Duty Mobile specifically.)

Do you agree with the games we mentioned above? Or do you think we should just keep getting the same version of Batman and Iron Man re-released over and over again? (Just kidding of course!) 1. I think the new Sonic minifigures from WM look decent so far. (Cause I remember seeing some poorly made ones) Hopefully they do the same good quality on other themes too! :D

Dark Souls would be epic especially for fantasy theme collectors.

And speaking of Super Smash, I would love a Samus minifigure to "fight" my Master Chief hahaha
